Unfortunately, we usually end up paying for a full night even when we don't stay that long. There are some hotels that have a day rate (usually cheaper hotels that serve truckers), but you have to ask for it. Good luck with your meeting on Wednesday! One you take a hotel room, whether for 2 hours or 2 days they still have to come in and clean.
