Kat's Tattoo Advice

I'm not a big fan of tattoos on women.  I don't have one and I don't plan on getting one, either.  I know some women like them, and that's their business entirely.

However, SomewhereMan told me a story this morning about a quick fuck date he had recently with a former lover.  Apparently, she had added a tramp stamp tattoo since he last saw her.

For those of you who are not familiar with the term, a "tramp stamp" is a tattoo on a woman's lower back. They are so popular, especially among younger women, that there is even a Tramp Stamp Barbie. Please don't get me started on my opinion of Tramp Stamp Barbie. I'll just go on and on and on....

Anyway, the tramp stamp that SomewhereMan's playmate had was a cross.  Yes, a religious symbol. On the lower back. So SomewhereMan had her on her hands and knees and was fucking her nice and hard, all the while looking at the cross. Enter guilt.

That made me think that some tattoo advice might be in order. First, putting religious symbols on your tramp stamp just sends some conflicting messages.

I also think you should stay away from scripture on your tramp stamp.  This young woman made a particularly bad choice as her I Corinthians 13 selection is commonly used at weddings.  I can just imagine a married man bending her over and being confronted by scripture read at his wedding.

Besides, who wants to do all that reading?

And this gal has one of the ten commandments on her back. That's ok, but anyone who knows the commandments knows that "Thou shalt not commit adultery" is not far behind this one.

Do you really want your married lover thinking about that while he's fucking your ass?  Really?

I didn't think so.

Now this young woman has made the mistake of including a religious symbol and a misspelling in her tramp stamp. Tattoos are forever, honey. Get someone to proofread the draft. This would be so distracting to me that I'd have to take off the strap-on and get a red marker to correct it.

I think I've made my point, haven't I?

While I was searching for tramp stamp photos to help illustrate my point, I came across a couple of others that I absolutely had to share.

This first one made me smile.  This young lady knows that men need very explicit directions and I applaud her idea.

I also like this one because it is hidden most of the time.

But my #1 favorite (among those I saw today in my search) is the one below.  This young woman wants to make sure the guy she's with remembers her name, regardless of whether he's taking her from behind or has his cock in her mouth.

I laughed out loud when I saw it.

It's ingenious when you think about it.

All of this has been about my main piece of advice for women with tramp stamp tattoos (The advice?  Stay away from religious symbols and scripture), but I have some definite thoughts about men with tattoos, too. I'll share that in a post soon.

Hmm....but thinking about it brings to mind a certain former Marine playmate I've had who wears his tattoos very, very well.....

You'll have to wait for another post to learn more about him. All I can say now is that it will be worth the wait. ;-)

Very nice as always Kat. You just caught me as I was headed out the door to get a dolphin tramp stamp on my lower back. I thought some blue sparkles around it might make it work for me. ;)

I have mixed emotions about tats, as with the pictures you showed here it can and is over done.
On the other side I have seen some very tasteful tats that are both artistic and in some cases hold special meaning to the wearer.

Myself I don't have any, yet. I have been thinking about it.

Clearly from your assumptions revealed above, you do not believe in monogamy for others (your position on the matter is quite clear).

Or do you feel that tramp-stamped women are more prone to this type of behavior? Yet, you say you don't have one...

Why not transition from an infidelity blog to a polyamory/nonmonogamy blog, since that seems to be your mindset?

Mr. D - Exploring your feminine side, are you? ;-)

Southern Sir - I believe that anyone has the right to mark up their own body if they choose. However, the impulsiveness of youth and tattoos don't mix well, do they?

Anon 7:28 - Interesting questions. First, I *do* believe in monogamy for others, if they choose monogamy. I have a deep admiration for those folks who are able to manage it over several decades.

As for tramp stamps, I don't think women who have them are more prone to promiscuous behavior at all. That may have been the case years ago, but it isn't anymore.

"Why not transition from an infidelity blog to a polyamory/nonmonogamy blog, since that seems to be your mindset?"

While there is clearly a difference between infidelity and polyamory, polyamory is not necessarily my mindset. When I started PWK, I intended it to be a sex/infidelity blog. The sex part will stay, regardless of other changes, but what happens if I choose to stop prowling in the future? What then? How will the blog evolve then?

Because this blog is really about my journey (and, to some degree, Daunt's and Cara's, too), it will evolve as I evolve. In that sense, does the "category" really matter?

Al old joke, from pre-Brazilian days:

OK, so two guys were telling lies to the bartender, when a regular, a very hot chick, walks in and takes a stool at the end of the bar, looking visibly upset. So the bartender asks her what‘s wrong. “You know that I always wanted an Elvis tattoo,” she said, sobbing, “so today was the day.” She continued that the tattoo artist put Elvis on her left thigh. “But he got the hair right, but the face is so so wrong,” she blubbered. “And then he offered to do one on the right thigh,” she continued, “but this time he got the face right but the body is wrong. What can I do?” One of the two guys generously offers to check. He gets on the floor, puts his face up her skirt, and turns left, right, left, and right, and then come back up. “So, am I right?” she cries. “Honey,” he replies, “you’re right that on the left, the face is just not Elvis. And on the right, well, the hair is just not Elvis. But that’s a hell of a Willie Nelson in the middle.”

There's such a fine line between a sexy tattoo and a bad tattoo. Mrs. AG has two which I think are of the former variety, but I've seen some real atrocities at the gym and elsewhere, kind of like some of the examples above. Also, why do some ladies feel the need to tattoo their neck or their ears? That's never good. Ever. Don't do it, I beg of you.

AG Out.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, who are you and what did you do with my friend Kat who wants a tattoo of her favorite sports team who won some big-deal American championship last year?

Cara - Hahaha! You must be referring to the "San Francisco Giants, World Champions 2010" tattoo that I keep threatening to get on my right hip.

You *know* what would happen if I got that. Hubby would explode...and it wouldn't be pretty.

Army Guy - I can think of nothing sexier than a SF Giants tattoo, can you?
