I was chatting with a friend this afternoon and, after explaining why the blog has been quiet for a few days (family holiday trip), he said something that kind of blew my hair back a bit. He said that the blog hasn't been as interesting lately because it's not as raunchy as it used to be. Apparently, it is his belief that I have fallen in love and the sex isn't as hot. Therefore, the blog isn't as raunchy.
His solution? Kat should go find some anonymous and random sex in a bar or somewhere so the blog can get back to being a chronicle of hot, dirty, raunchy, nasty sex.
Hmmm.....
While the idea of anonymous and random sex is a bit alluring, I still didn't believe that limiting my prowling was affecting the quality of my posts, so I asked Cara, hoping to feel some support. Here's how it went:
Cara: I agree with him and you've been slacking on the stories lately.
Kat: What about the three posts about my 24 hour date with JJ? Wasn't that hot? Wasn't it raunchy enough?
Cara: It was decidedly less raunchy, but still good.
The wind just blew right out of my sails.
Am I really losing my touch? Is being in love making me soft? Is Prowling with Kat destined to become a romance blog now?
God forbid!
So, fellow Prowlers, here's my pledge to you:
I will do everything in my power to have the nastiest, dirtiest, raunchiest sex sometime within the next 24 hours so a) I can prove to myself that I still can (I'm not too worried about that), and b) y'all can enjoy a filthy, raunchy post in the near future.
Oh, the things I do for my art.....
By the way, for those of you waiting for the next chapter in my conversation with my husband, stay tuned. It's coming. The last several days have, indeed, been a wild ride.

Personally, I prefer blogs that are an extension of the writer's real life whether it be raunchy or romantic - and is it not our "truths" which set us apart from the schooled and studied erotica set? We actually live(d) it .... xo - E.
